I asked AI to “write a short story about a Kabuli girl”

The result is impressive and sad at the same time.

In the bustling city of Kabul, there was a young girl named Zainab. She was a bright and curious child who had grown up in the midst of war and turmoil. Despite the hardships she had faced, Zainab had always been determined to make the most of her life.

Zainab’s family lived in a small, cramped apartment in the heart of the city. Her parents were both hardworking but struggled to make ends meet. Despite this, they had always encouraged their daughter to pursue her education.

Zainab was an excellent student, and she had always dreamed of becoming a teacher. She spent every spare moment studying, determined to make her dream a reality. She would often go to the library and read books, trying to educate herself as much as possible.

One day, as she was walking home from school, a bomb exploded near her. The blast knocked her unconscious and she woke up in the hospital with severe injuries. The doctors did their best to save her life, but they told her family that she would never be able to walk again.

Zainab was devastated. She had lost her ability to walk, and her dream of becoming a teacher seemed to be over. But she was not the one to give up easily. She decided to take her studies seriously, started to learn Braille, and began to study with the help of her family and teachers.

I scout Afghanistan media for stories about women that deserve wider attention. Whatever I earn on Medium, 50% will be donated to educating children in Afg.
