Thank you for giving it a read, Pierre. Our neighbors do not treat their women a lot better than the Taliban does in Afghanistan. But some changes are occurring. If you follow the struggle for women's liberation in Iran, there is some progress. Saudi Arabia is letting women drive now, which is a change. This young monarch, MBS, is bringing some hope; in the past, Saudi Arabia openly supported the Taliban now it hesitates. If Afghanistan's neighborhood improves regarding gender equality, it might have spillover to our country too.

Another option is to remove the Taliban militarily; that is the quickest way; otherwise, it will get a lengthy and costly process like Iran. The Taliban is unlikely to change its behavior towards women; now, they increasingly define their regime identity as anti-women by issuing decree after decree restricting women's rights and freedoms.

I scout Afghanistan media for stories about women that deserve wider attention. Whatever I earn on Medium, 50% will be donated to educating children in Afg.
