The US presence did enormous good. One example is Kabul, the capital city. I lived in Kabul before the US invasion; it was nothing more than a ruin. Now, it is a modern capital city. Achievements were tremendous, and it would have been a massive success story if the West had remained involved. The US withdrawal set us back by at least half a century.
